Dr Maria Lubomira Kubica is Assistant Professor of Private Law at UNED (Spain), Visiting Professor at Freie Universität Berlin, Co-Chair of the Spanish Hub of European Law Institute, member of its Council as well as a member of ENIA Chair on AI. Her research lies at the intersection of Contracts, Torts,, Digital and Comparative Law. She is currently writing a commissioned book for Routledge - Enterprise Liability in the Digital Age - which she plans to advance during her stay in Graz.
Didem Polad (University of Helsinki)
Didem Polad is a PhD researcher at the University of Helsinki, where she also completed her master’s degree in International Business Law. Her research interests are regulation of artificial intelligence, national tort laws, and product liability. She conducts her doctoral research on the liability for the private use of artificial intelligence.
At REWI Uni Graz, she is doing research under the supervision of Barbara Steininger at the Centre for European Private Law (ZEP). During the research period in Graz, she is examining whether the tort law regimes of Member States are adequate to cover damage caused by the private use of AI and will review what forms of liability may be appropriate in such contexts.
